Multi-shot devices, also known as “cakes,” deliver high-impact, rapid-fire effects that light up the sky with a constant stream of colors, noise, and special effects. Some of these devices can shoot over 400 rounds in just 17 seconds, creating a breathtaking cascade of vivid hues.
Typically reaching heights between 100 and 300 feet, multi-shot devices serve two primary purposes. In larger displays, they help create a “layering” effect by adding depth and height. While low-level multi-shot devices light up the foreground, aerial shells can burst higher in the sky, complementing the design with various colors and patterns to create a dynamic visual tableau.
Multi-shot devices can also serve as the primary source of pyrotechnic displays in locations where aerial shells may not be permitted for safety reasons. They can deliver a spectacular show, with or without the inclusion of aerial shells.
